Cape Town is a major cultural center in South Africa. There are many exciting museums, entertainment options and national landmarks that attract tourists every year. One of the most common local weekend preferences is getting out of the city for a nice camping trip. This is also becoming popular with tourists who enjoy a diverse assortment of experiences while visiting this remarkable South African city. There are many beautiful and scenic picnic, hiking and camping spots just outside of Cape Town and maps and directions are readily available for eager outdoors people. Cape Town car rentals are an excellent resource for planning spur of the moment excursions in and outside of the city.

Buttonquail Nature Reserve is an incredible park that has been described as the most beautiful location south of Kruger Park. This gorgeous spot has plenty of accommodations that allow visitors to experience the great outdoors without losing all the comforts of home. For tourists it is an excellent park as the tents are already provided and set up. The tents include bathrooms with toilet and shower facilities and 24 hour hot water due to the gas geysers. In addition, each of the tents has a gas heater for staying warm on chili nights. The tents end up being closer to hotel suits then camping pup tents given all of their accommodations, which even includes towel and coffee service.

Enjo Nature Farm is an incredible opportunity for outdoor exploration in a beautiful environment. The farm offers guests the chance to stay in one of their riverside chalets, each of which includes bathroom facilities, a kitchen and fireplace. They also have the option of renting a private cabin or staying in the camping area. Some of the activities available in and near the farm include a hiking trail that leads to the Enjo Amphitheater, a beautiful dam where campers can swim, and a hike to the springs that supply the farm’s drinking water. For adventure and excitement seeking guests, there is a small plane ride through the Cederberg rock formations.
